CIFA Project 2022

After the engagement with the Doroba and Ekwaiweni communities in 2016, Community Initiatives Facilitation assistance funded another pilot Irrigation project in 2019. The outcomes of the pilot project included increased winter cropping at Jailos Mhlanga area. 

the 2022 project aims at scalling up the the pilot project at Telu Kamanga and Palango Mhango.  Through the project, 130 farming families will have access to solar powered irrigation systems. Two additional systems will be installed in the areas of Telu Kamanga and Palango Mhango. 

The project will also organise farmers in a cooperative so they will be producing and selling their produce in bulk  and at good prices. Apart from trainings, the community will also own a  storage and sorting facility
